MacuLux® MPF-Test (Beta-Version)

The Maculux® MPF-Test at last provides an fast,  inexpensive and simple to use tablet-based means of accurately quantifying your patient’s level of protection against oxidative and phototoxic damage to the macula.

As is well documented, the risk of AMD is closely related to the density of macular pigment (comprising the macular carotenoids lutein zeaxanthin and meso-zeaxanthin).  The Maculux® MPF-Test generates a value for the macular pigment density; however it also provides a ‘macular protection factor’ measurement which is  easier for patients to relate to and to initiate discussion regarding AMD management, protective eyewear and nutritional supplements.
